Are you interested in getting together with some of your Midwood ’57 classmates in the Berkshires this summer?
We have an opportunity to join with the classes of ’50, ’51, and others at reunion events they have planned for Monday and Tuesday, Aug 2-3, 2010 in the Berkshire region of Massachusetts. This is all happening because last summer I was wearing our Midwood ’57 cap during a concert at Tanglewood and happened to sit near someone from the class of ’50 and heard about their plans. They would be very happy to have Midkids from other classes join them. I have run this past our organizing committee and several are interested in coming. However, we do not have much time as the organizers need reservations and payments by May 13.
The details can be found by looking at their web site:
The main event starts on Monday (8/2) at 4 PM at the HancockShakerVillage in Pittsfield, MA, a historic museum. There will be cocktails, dinner, and a program filled with fun and surprises including a video presentation by a current Midwood Assistant Principal and music. The cost for this event is $98 per person which includes dinner, water, soft drinks, wine and beer and a gift bag. To indicate interest go to the above web page to send an Email to the “5051” organizers. You will also need to download a form to register by mail and send money.
The second event on Tuesday (8/3) is the evening performance at Tanglewood Music Festival in Lenox, MA which will feature “Tanglewood on Parade”, a popular annual event for which the grounds open about 3 PM. Sign up is also by Email through the above web site.
The Class of 57 could also organize some of our own activities such as a picnic on Tuesday. Since time is limited we need to quickly communicate with each other about this opportunity by using this web page.
Everyone will be able to see your comments if you go to the POST MESSAGES tab and use “Sign the guest book” to let us all know if you are interested in coming and what else we could do in the Berkshires. Also use the tab for “Summer 2010 ReU” to see additional info like a place to stay for our class. Remember, the main event should be the dinner on Monday but we can be creative with other things to do. It is a wonderful part of the country; many of our classmates spend time in the Berkshires and this would be a good opportunity to get to see each other as well as make some new acquaintances.
